Meet your Psychologist

Suzanne Gibson, Clinical Psychologist

Suzanne is a warm and caring Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about facilitating change in people and empowering them to overcome their challenges. She holds full membership of the Clinical College of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA). She obtained a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours from the University of New South Wales and a Master of Clinical Psychology from Macquarie University.

Suzanne has over 18 years’ professional experience working with people facing work-related mental ill-health concerns, injury and trauma following a car accident and those managing chronic pain. She has assisted people to overcome suffering associated with chronic pain, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, bipolar, perinatal issues, stress, relationship difficulties and many other challenges. She has a special interest in the area of chronic pain and completed her Masters dissertation on this topic, as well as completing advanced level training in therapeutic approaches for chronic pain.

Suzanne has been trained in a range of evidence-based psychological therapies so that she can draw upon a variety of strategies to suit each individual client. She uses Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as part of her treatment approach.
