Clinical Psychologist or Clinical Psychology Registrar, Parramatta.

Did you know:

  • Some people experience constant physical pain even when doctors cannot find any physiological cause of their pain?

  • Studies have shown that there is two-way communication between the emotion centres of our brain and the parts of our brain that send off pain signals, making our mood and physical pain very closely linked?

  • There is over 30 years of research supporting psychological interventions for treating chronic pain?

So much so, that I have built a very busy practice over the last three years, mainly working with people who are suffering with chronic pain, referred to me by various Pain Specialists around Sydney.   • The opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people who face severe difficulties and social disadvantage;

  • The chance to develop and extend your therapeutic skills by working with a wide range of complex client presentations;

  • The opportunity to work collaboratively with another passionate psychologist and grow your skills and experience as our clinic grows.

The role involves:

  • Completing initial psychological assessments to identify presenting problems and contributing factors;

  • Case formulation to facilitate effective treatment planning;

  • Delivering evidence-based psychological therapy on an individual basis to assist clients to overcome psychological problems;

  • Assisting clients with a variety of presenting problems including chronic pain, anxiety disorders, panic disorder, depression, bipolar and PTSD and other psychological disorders;

  • Completing suicide risk assessments and implementing risk management plans when necessary;

  • Case conferencing with doctors and other health professionals;

  • Participation in group peer supervision and professional development activities to maintain and develop competent therapeutic skills.

About you:
